Four bowlers with an accumulated total of 178 years of pin-smashing, have been selected for the St. Paul Hall of Fame for the 2006 season.

            They are Rich Warren  in Superior Performance-Male; Paulette Genz, Superior Performance-Female; Carol Edwards, Meritorious Service and Duane Perrizo in Pioneers.

        They will be enshrined at the 42nd annual Bowlers Recognition dinner on Sunday, Oct. 29 at the Prom Center in Oakdale.  Social hour is at 5p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.  Tickets are available, at $20 each ($25 at the door) at most bowling establishments and the St. Paul Bowling office at Saxon Lanes in Little Canada.

         Warren started bowlingin men's ABC leagues in 1967 at the age of 17 at Lucky Lanes.  His first major title came in the 1981 Men's State tourney with the Hafner's team of St. Paul.  In the spring of the 1988-89 season, Rich and Tom Stanton won the City tourney doubles title.  In Dec. 1989 he captured the Minnesota Masters crown.

         Warren paired with 1990 Hall of Famer Terry Schacht to claim the city doubles title in 2003 with a tourney record score of 1,532.  Warren shot 742 and Schacht had 790.  They won both scratch and handicap titles that year.  He has been a member of one championship team and four runnersup in the St. Paul Team Challenge Tourney.

         Rich has a lifetime average of 201 for 26 ABC/USBC tournaments.  He has posted 18 perfect (300) games, three 299s, three 298s and five 800 series with a high of 858 (279-300-279) in 1997.  His high average was 226 in the 1995-96 season.

         Genz began her bowling career in 1964 in the 3M women's league at Weber's Lanes in North St. Paul.  She has been a league secretary/treasurer and vice-president for various leagues since 1971 and has been a member of 16 championship teams.

         She captured the 1996 Minnesota State 600 tournament with a 710 score that included a 299 game and claimed the 1988-89 Women's City all events with a score of 1,27 (T-684, D-670, S-623). She was a member of the 2002-03 Division I Women's City tourney team championships (Voice Plus) with a 577 score.  She also won the Metro 600 tourney with a 628 scratch score in 1988.

         Nationally, Paulette finished as runnerup in the 1995 WIBC all events with an 1,806 score, missing the championship by ONE PIN!.  That same year her team finished fifth in Div. I and she posted a 605 series in her teams 2,783 score.  She has been president of the St. Paul 600 club since 1995 and a board member since 1981.

         She also excelled in fast pitch softball and was elected to the State Softball Hall of Fame in 1996.

         A bowler since the 1959 season Edwards has been quite active in various parts of the tenpin gameever since.  She was an active member of the St. Paul WIBC board since 1990-91 season and is now on the USBC board.  She was a director of the St. Paul YABA board for 16 years, lane certification for 10 years and level 2 coach for 15 years.

         Carol has compoeted in 26 WIBC national tournaments and attended numerous stste and national conventions.  She has worked a Pro-Am tourney, Team USA, Minnesota Queens, St Paul 600, WBA stste and City Mixed and Open tournaments.

         Perrizo started bowling in youth leagues and began his ABC career in 1956.  His first major title came in 1971 when he captured the Tribune Classic with a winning score of 889.  He was top man with the Venetian Inn team that captured the St. Paul City team title with a 698 score in the teams3,069 winning total.

         "Pizza", as his various teammates have called him for years, was a member of the St. Paul mixed team scratch champions.  He won the State Knights of Columbus scratch all events championship in 2004 with a score of 2,101, shooting 767 in the singles event. He teamed up with Jack Wallisch in the fist ever century doubles event at the USBC Nationals in Baton Rouge and won that event in 2004 shooting 1389. In 2003 his doubles partner was Dale Hanson and they topped all Minnesota bowlers in the regular doubles event

          He has been a Junior bowling coach for 28 years and started the Mama Vitales Junior scholorship programn in 1993 and has run it ever since. Pizza is also the head coach of the North St Paul high school bowling team   He has three 300 games, a high series of 767 and a high average of 213.  He is currently a USBC local board member.

         In addition to the Hall of Fame inductions, the bowlers recognition dinner will also name the Men's and Women's All City Teams, which began in 1956, select a "King" and "Queen" of same.  Also honored will be the Men's and Women's Secretaries of the year, selection of Joe & Ethel Bowlers and honoring the YABA all city teams and naming the prince and princess of the St. Paul Jr. bowlers.
